Often times, agencies have elected to not utilize a vehicle partition in their vehicles. However, the need to secure their weapons still exists. Placing them in the trunk is an option, but access is limited and theft is a definite possibility. For a period in time, mounting across the top of the interior roof line was seen as an adequate solution. That is, until the introduction of Side Curtain Airbags and potential danger to officers during a wreck. The SCA's would need to be disabled, which would eliminate a safety feature designed by the vehicle manufacturers. Jotto Desk stopped offering this style of gun rack beginning with the 11+ Charger, 11+ Caprice and also with the PI Sedan/PI Utility.

Our solution, the GR6, vertically mounts the gun rack in the "rear seat area". The GR6 Gun Rack for the PI Sedan and PI Utility were designed with input from several large agencies - who wished to run their wiring down the top of the transmission hump and underneath the OEM coverplate in the front compartment. As a result, we have designed both of the base sections in similar fashion to the Ford wire track cover. Installation is a breeze, as OEM mounting points are utilized and there are no holes/drilling required. The traditional Barrel Lock Mount (BLM) is standard in this design...securing the least accessorized portion of the AR-15. The shotgun side, secures the weapon beneath the pump portion.
